Awesome day today. Madi had a fabulous day at school. The kids got to share what they got for Christmas. She shared about her Kindle and her new shoes and a few other items. She did her Fasttmath, started part of her spelling assignment and wrote her journal entry that is due tomorrow. Used her checklists and is on her way to a great year!!
She's been saving up some of her allowance money. We got to talking about books today because she checked out another Warriors book from the school library and it's the first book in the next series that she is wanting to read. Amazon has the six book series for $24 and our school library only has the first book. Each book is $6 to get for the kindle so it'd be $36. There was also a field guide that she was wanting to go along with it that was $10. So she paid us some of the money she has saved up and we purchased the books on Amazon tonight. She should get them in a few days since we have Amazon Prime for a few more weeks. She's super excited about the new books!
We helped her study for her spelling bee that is next week on January 10. She's super excited about it and is hoping to win. I told her that she has a good chance of it, but that she should focus on just doing her best. If she wins, awesome!! If not, giving her best is all she needs to do. Though I won't be surprised to see her win and would be so happy for her. So we went over spelling words and had her practice speaking clearly and slowly - not trying to spell it as fast as possible. Told her that judges will want to understand each letter so it's better to be clear than fast. She did really really great with it.
We're back to rotating between the girls at night which is nice. Jeremy and Madi were reading Drizzt together so they were doing the night routines together for a while and Riley was in a clingy mood with me so it worked out well. But both girls have been wanting to rotate which has been nice. Gives us good time with both of them.
Madi and I are reading a devotional together each night out of a devotion book called "God Girl" that we got her for Christmas. It's really good. We read Romans chapter 4 today. Lots of talk of circumcision in the last few chapters she and I have read. Gives us interesting topics to talk about :) And I'm as clear as I need to be and as subtle as I can be without giving too much detail.
After treating her warts for a few weeks, they are almost all gone!!! So far four of them are gone and there is only one small one left on the bottom of the foot. So happy for her that the treatment is working. And she's feeling good about it too. Thinking the new shoes and socks may also be helping since her feet can breathe better.
I get to have Madi's class tomorrow. They are playing a pass the cup game in class which is a lot of fun. A little crazy too :)
