You've Got A Great Girl!!

We're loving having Madison here.  Feels so normal to have her around.  Today we went to Student Services and turned in the transfer request form for her to attend Ethridge.  The girls all snacked on Vanilla Wafers (just a few per girl) and were really great about going.  We spent the morning playing in the playroom and getting ready.  While Julia napped, Maddie did ten minutes of cursive.  She said she didn't know how to do it well, but I was quite impressed.  Everything was legible and she really did a great job.  She only practiced lower case letters for a few pages and then did one page of writing words.  We also read a few questions from the Brainquest about America.  Maddie made her bed and took a shower this morning.  Then we went to student services and came home for lunch.  The girls had eggs and cheese in a tortilla shell.

We went to Joann's Fabrics in the afternoon and Maddie really, really wanted to buy something.  She said she walked into the store and just had to buy something.  She found several really cool things that she wants.  (I'll keep them in mind for future reference...)  There was a great science kit and yarn and thread stuff with beads.  I told her that she didn't need to buy anything and that self control will be a good thing to learn when shopping in stores.  She asked when I learned it.  Hard question.  I told her it was probably at a very young age when I was told the same thing that I was telling her.  So we went in and went out without buying anything at all.  I was glad she didn't spend her money as I know she's very much wanting a bike so I'm hoping to help her get it by way of not spending it on small things along the way.

We came home and the girls had dinner (pierogies and broccoli).  They also watched the movie "Aquamarine" and played some Candy Land.  Riley had a great day overall and her fever is gone.  Looks as though it may not be hand-foot-mouth which would be awesome!!

I cleaned the house top to bottom today - all the fun stuff - dusting, vacuuming, bathrooms and sanitized all the toys.  Hoping to avoid anyone else getting sick!

Maddie loved talking with you guys.  Said it was hard to say goodbye.  She loved seeing Micah and said he looked different.  Facetime is awesome!!!!  Hardly feels like you are across the ocean that way.

Tomorrow I have all the piano lessons and crochet lessons.  The girls will go to Kami's house at 9am until 6pm.  I'll make sure to send her with her iPod in case you call.  And I'll make sure we bring it home too!  She'll have a nice, long playdate with Kenzie every Tuesday except for the week she'll be at VBS.  Kenzie will also be gone that day.

Hope you have a great night!  Will have to have some facetime with you guys as well - looks so fun!

- Jess
