There were a lot of firsts today.
First day away from Mom and Dad.
First day getting used to a new home without Mom.
First day to snuggle with Aunt Jessica on the couch.
First day to pray together at night.
First day spent with Poppi, Grammy, Kathryn and Tripp.
I was very impressed with the way that Madison handled today. She talked non-stop (literally non-stop) from the time I got home at 8pm until 11pm when she went to bed. After dropping you off at the airport, she came back to our house with Poppi and Grammy. They had a really fun time with Kathryn and Tripp at the pool. She said so many times how much she loved the pool. Then she ate dinner with Jeremy while I put Riley to sleep.
After that, we sat together on the couch talking and watching the Mavs beat the Heat (GO MAVS!). She definitely has a lot to say and loves to think of things that could be or would be. Such as "Wouldn't it be funny if...." or "sometime you could do.... and then.... and then..." She's a thinker for sure. And loves to talk. :)
Being that it was her first night with just us, we let her stay up later and wind down on her time. Just to keep her comfortable and help her adjust. I asked her to brush her teeth and change into her pjs which she did after the first time I asked. Then I told her I'd go up and lay with her for a little while. I prayed and then she talked and talked and talked (was so cute) and finished her last sentence and literally fell asleep as soon as the last word left her mouth. Made me smile.
She's doing very well and you'd be so proud, Monica and Marcus. I'll keep you posted as to how things continue to go. We prayed that you would have a safe flight back and that all would go well when you land. I'll have Madison write a message to you soon. We love you!
