Morning started off sad. Charidy is still fighting tonsilitis so Madi wasn't able to go to Hawaiian Falls. Her mom said she wanted to give her one more day to get better. Tomorrow Charidy and Madi will get together to go swimming which I think Madi will love. And we have Julia's doctor appointment at 9am tomorrow.
But things were made much better when I called Kami and Kenzie was able to come over for a playdate with her. They had a lot of fun together. Spent time playing hide and seek, Wii, computer time and just time together. Girls had chicken strips and corn for dinner.
Madi has done such an incredible job making her bed each morning and taking care of her room. Rarely needs more than one reminder to do it. I had her do some math today. She did well on most of it. I checked the answers using the index at the back and then gave her a few tips for how to correct the ones she got wrong. I asked her to go upstairs and try them after we talked about them for a short while. I wanted to give her a chance to figure it out for herself without just giving her the answers. She didn't want to do it and finally went up. And laid down. I came up after snuggling with Riley on the couch (who had diarrhea this morning - fun stuff). Madi said she had a headache. So I had her take her claritin and pointed out that I noticed she complained about headaches most when she was asked to do something she didn't want to. So we got her some water and went downstairs to tackle the answers together.
She was able to work through the answers with me and needed encouragement along the way. I told her she's doing a great job and that I think she's better at math than she gives herself credit for. She's a great student when she believes she can do it and feels she can be successful at it.
We think we've found the right walkie talkies and will hopefully be getting them soon. A friend has an extra helmet, or thinks she does, so we're not ordering everything until we know. She's dying to ride her bike and we want her to have that freedom - just want to make sure she has the right equipment and safety gear.
Another good day. I'm going to go up and read with her now. Please call even if you have a moment or two. I know you're busy but Madi would love to hear from you. And we enjoy it too! Hope school is going well!
