Today was great. Madi won her AR (advanced reader) award for having 63.3 points for reading books (and some of her books don't even have AR points or she'd have even more. The second place person has 36.8 points. Mrs. Campbell had to add 4th and 5th places just so that other students had a chance to earn something because the top three readers were the same as the last six weeks.
I checked on Madi twice during the day. She was a little warm this morning, but by lunchtime, she felt just fine. She was upbeat and even did part of the hopscotch as we were going inside so I figured her day would be ok. She mentioned that she had a small headache so we'll still give her tylenol for tonight.
Another awesome thing that happened was that Madi was chosen to participate in the Geography Bowl - basically like a spelling bee, but related to geography and finding places on maps. She had her first meeting today. She has two more meetings next week. I'll get to watch her compete on Thursday, December 15. I have no doubt she'll do awesome!!!
