First Day of School (which means lectures, lectures and more lectures)

Madi had the best first day of school.  When asked how it was, she said it was amazing, awesome and completely amazing.  Guess that sums it up!  She was quite nervous about it and didn't eat much this morning.  Once she met some friends, all was great!  She was smiling big time when she came to the music room at the end of the day.  Said she had a great day and loved it.

Outside the school before it began

During the day, she heard tons of lectures, lectures and more lectures.  They played a game in math called Poison.  She seemed to like that quite a bit.  They got their planners, books and were assigned 30 minutes of reading tonight as well as a bag activity where they had to gather three items from home and put them in the bag.  They'll use the items to tell about their summer.  She chose to show them:  tshirt from camp, her Filipino money, and a little book from American Girl that signifies relaxation because it's called 29 ways to relax.  And relax she has.  I'm surprised she didn't make a poster about all her time on IXL this summer - I know it was the highlight of her summer  ;)

I filled out her paperwork and have her parent/teacher info session tomorrow night from 6-7pm.  From the pic below, you'll be able to see her ginormous smile.

Alex came smiling into my room with her and told me "Madi makes friends so easy and she's not shy at all!"  They gave each other big hugs before the girls went their separate ways.  Madi was extremely happy and had a fantastic day!!
