Hannah and Madi got along fantastic. Best playdate yet. They started off by playing some PhotoBooth on the computer and then doing some games on the iPod. I took everyone to the mall where I got Jeremy some new white tshirts and then took the girls to Justice and Claire's to walk around.

They were running a great sale where if you bought $50 worth of stuff, you earned $50 Justice Bucks to spend in the future. Madi really wanted to get some necklaces, bracelets, a friendship bracelet making pack and earrings. Since they were all 40% off, she used her allowance money. I purchased 4 new bras and really cool drawing kit. Thought it would be fun for the girls to do. It has pages of girls and many plastic tracing outfits so that you can design new clothes, accessories and stuff. Madi and Hannah had a lot of fun doing it and Madi spent almost the entire rest of the day drawing, tracing and coloring in it. Looks really good!
We ate sandwiches with fresh fruit and what doritos we did have left. Madi finished her IXL - which took almost no time - and then we left to go meet up with the Lebsack's at my parents' house. We ate pizza, some ice cream and brownies and went for a nice swim. Pool was quite crowded with 10 of us in it, but was a lot of fun. After the swim, the subject got to singing. We told them that Madi was a great singer so they asked if she would sing for them. She was a little bit nervous and at first, didn't want to. So she asked if I would sing with her and wanted to sing "Mystery" from the Alice in Wonderland movie. Jeremy knew it too so the three of us sang accapella. Doug (the dad) commented on what an amazing singer Madison is and was very impressed with her voice.
Madison was extremely well behaved today. Was so impressed with her manners and have been impressed with them in the last two weeks or so. The 'Thank you's' and 'please's' and such have been used often. We've been sure to tell her that we've noticed and how great a job she is doing on her manners. She's also eating with her mouth closed at meals and not chomping near as much. Did an awesome job at that during the playdate. Hannah had such a great, great time today. Her mom wrote to say how much fun it was and to say thanks for having her over. Couldn't be happier that they will both be in class together this year.
Madi had a challenge at church two weeks ago. The challenge was that for one week, she wasn't supposed to pray or read her Bible. For the next week, she was to do a devotional and pray on her own. Then she is to report back to church and tell about how each week went and which week was better. So Jeremy and I were talking with her about what kind of devotionals to do. I got the idea that we could read through the New Testament together - just one chapter each night. We started a few nights ago. Tonight Madi and I read Matthew 3. It's been great because she's asking questions about what things mean and what it has to do with God and life. We're almost finished with "My Only May Amelia." But Madi was getting so very tired so we stopped halfway through the chapter, prayed and then she crashed.
Really great week so far!! Madi is so incredibly excited about school and I'm really glad she'll be able to go soon. I think she's really ready and she's worked very hard this summer, on math in particular, and will do great. I feel confident that she's as prepared and studied up as she could possibly be to have a great start to the year. Will definitely help!
Hope you're good! We should be home in the morning if you have a chance to call. Anytime works for us! Or Facebook me to let me know when a good time for Madi to call would be!
