Madi is studying about the Alamo, San Jacinto and Texas figures. She asked me today if I knew who Davy Crockett was. First thing I did was start singing "you mean 'Davy___, Davy Crockett King of the Wild Frontier!!" She was confused. And I was like "Oh yeah - there's a song about him."
So Jeremy gets home and Madi asks him if he knows who Davy Crockett is. And the first thing Jeremy does is sing "you mean....." and sings it just like I had. We both started laughing and Madi is like "Hey! You both did the same thing!"

She had a good day today. Said school was just the usual. Nothing too exciting. I had an odd day as Riley is sick with bronchitis and ear infection and Jules has a sinus infection and a double ear infection. It's going around the daycare and they have been fighting off stuff for a few weeks now. Julia just got over pinkeye. Argh. Hopefully they're just building up their immune systems so that they won't be sick when they're older. Supposedly that works that way??!! You would know that more than me, Nurse Collado! :)
My day was: drop Madi off, go to Walmart to get juice (as I knew they couldn't taste the water and wouldn't drink it without a little flavor), get home and do laundry, go to doctor, go back to Walmart for prescriptions, home to make lunch and put Jules down for nap and then snuggle with Riley, pick Madi up and back to Walmart to pick up the prescriptions that took two hours to get ready. Walmart was the place to be. The second time we went, Riley calls out all excited: "Hey Mom!! We've been here today! We get to go here again!!! Wow - we've already gone here and we get to go again!" hahaha Jules simply sat in the back going "birh! Birh!!!! Fy! Fy! Birh!!!!" (bird-bird-fly-fly-bird) Gotta love the millions of birds at Walmart!
Madi was pretty lowkey this afternoon. I had one piano student and we ate pizza for dinner, our usual Thursday night meal - quick and easy and no clean up. Madi played on her iPod and did her Fasttmath. Turned in her Alamo project today. Hoping it went well!
She has a slight cough, but it doesn't happen often. Will definitely be watching out for to see if any symptoms appear or if it gets worse. Possible it's allergies as it's been so warm here and breezy. Truly hoping that she's not getting the stuff the girls have! Madi's got a strong immune system which is awesome! (Though I think sometimes she wishes she didn't as she asked this morning "Can I stay home??!")
She also asked me this morning "So do kids get anything at the end of the year if they don't miss any days of school?" And I told her that "yes, they do." She goes "Oooohhh - what is it?" Had I been a little more on my feet, I probably would have been more creative in my answer. Instead I just told the truth in a very bland way. "You get a piece of paper that is a certificate stating that you had perfect attendance." Madi was very disappointed and said "That stinks!!" And I told her the story of how my brother Jon hated school and always had perfect attendance and I loved school and I was always sick. If I hadn't been awake so early with Riley and was feeling a little more silly, I would have been more creative in my answer. Wish I could have told her they would get a shopping spree at Justice. She'd be very excited about that!! :)
