We always put up our Christmas decorations and tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. This year we put them up today since Madi won't be here next weekend (she'll be with your parents starting Tuesday thru Sunday). We wanted to be sure she was included in getting it up.
She was excited to see a tree lit up again and hung a few ornaments, but was more interested in playing her World of Warcraft game. But at least she was able to see it go up and had the chance to add to it if she wanted to.
We also put up some garland on the stairs and the banister at the top of the playroom. There's a wreath on the door - had to get a new one because the birds built a nest inside of the old one last year.
Today we all went to church. All of our lessons/sermons were about thankfulness. Was an awesome service. Riley actually learned about being thankful for friends and that God gives you people around you that help you. She made a card that says "Best Friends Forever" on it at the bottom. The teacher wrote her name on one heart and Riley had to tell the teacher the name of her best friend. She chose Madi. When we showed Madi what Riley had written, she looked very touched. We've tried to tell her that Riley looks up to her, but it was really great that she was able to see it in this way.
Riley also listed "her big sister Madi" as the first thing she was thankful for on her placemat that she made for her Thanksgiving Feast at school last week. Madi was also very touched by that.
This afternoon Madi and Jeremy spent most of their day playing the W.O.W. (world of warcraft) game on the computers. They really enjoyed it.
Tomorrow Madi will go into work with Jeremy and have a day at Elizabeth's house. She's really looking forward to it!
